Subject: Advanced students' scientific activity

Type: required elective for the general medicine programme

Credit value: 2 credits

Responsible department: department of the incumbent chaiman of the Council of Students’ Research Society (currently UD MHSC Department of Biophysics and Cell Biology, Division of Biomathematics)

Year: 1st-6th (while engaging in student research activities)

Semester: 1st and 2nd

Prerequisites: at least one prior oral presentation at a conference of the students' research society and/or at least one accepted peer-reviewed student paper ("pályamunka")

Number of students: -

Goal: student research activity in accrodance with the working plan of the host department

Number of teaching hours: as determined by the department where the scientific work is done, min. 2x2 hours/week

Type of exam: Oral progress report on the 15th educational week in the host department in the presence of the students’ scientific officers from the host department and from another department. A representative from the Council of Students’ Research Society is also invited for these occasions. Students present their work from the current semester and their scientific notes and logs.

Grading: AW5

Scheduling of the oral progress reports will be determined in the second half of each semester by the Council of Students’ Research Society and representatives from each department will be informed in time.

*The first opportunity to take the prerequisite course is in the 2nd semester of the 2012-2013 academic year. Due to this fact the Council of Students' Research Societies waives this prerequisite for the said academic year and it will probably waive it for the next one. The requirement for at least one prior oral presentation at a conference of the students' research society and/or at least one accepted peer-reviewed student paper ("pályamunka") will be strictly enforced. The registration for the course in the Neptun system is scheduled to open on Monday, 18 February 2013.
