Converting SRS paper to thesis
Deadline for students graduating in Spring or Summer 2015 to submit their SRS paper is February 15, 2015. Deadline for students graduating in Fall or Winter 2015 is April 12, 2015.
Works finished after the deadline can only be submitted as thesis.
Students applying for a PhD course at a Hungarian university must submit their SRS paper regardless of the time of their expected graduation if they want to use it for their application for the PhD course.
Accepted SRS papers with only one author may be converted to thesis
1. by reformatting it taking into account the formatting rules for theses. In that case the work is to be processed in the same way as a regular thesis and the review process is supervised by the Educational Office.
2. in their original form. In that case reviews and the authors' responses must be attached to the paper when it is submitted to the Educational Office accompanied by the appropriate form (only available in Hungarian).
SRS papers with more than one author may only be coverted to the thesis of the first author in their original form, but even in those cases all the other authors have to renounce their rights for conversion (declaration available only in Hungairan). Authors other than the first author may only submit their work as a thesis by reformatting it. All the other authors have to grant their express permission in that case also. An SRS paper can only be converted into a single thesis either in its original form or by reformatting it.
SRS papers can only be accepted as theses if the author requesting the conversion has presented his/her work at a local conference of SRS and at least two thirds of the jury members have voted for accepting the work as a thesis. In such cases the presentation is taken into account with an Excellent (5) mark.
